ISAT, The Higher Institute of Automobile and Transport, is an engineering school specializing in the fields of automobile, aeronautics, and transport. Every year, ISATEVENEMENT, an association made up of students from the Institute, organizes a gala in honor of the students. I was contacted to participate voluntarily in its design.

The Project
A true showcase of the school, the ISAT Gala reflects the family-oriented and friendly spirit in which students thrive throughout their studies. This event is one of the main vectors of the school's image and reputation with the public. It is also the largest student event in the city of Nevers, with over 1,200 participants in the 2023 edition. Several approaches were explored, ranging from photomontage to a style inspired by the early 007 films, before ultimately opting for a vector illustration approach.

My approach
A step-by-step follow-up
For this project, I adopted a structured methodology, similar to that used in a professional context. Each step was planned and validated progressively: from researching and exploring creative avenues, to designing the initial sketches and prototypes, up to finalizing the vector illustrations. This step-by-step follow-up allowed me to stay organized, to step back on graphic choices, and to ensure visual consistency throughout the project, while effectively integrating feedback from stakeholders.
Testing and iterations
At this stage, I evaluated each visual based on its readability, impact, and coherence with the Gala's identity. I made several iterations to adjust the compositions, colors, and fonts. Feedback from stakeholders and the team was invaluable in identifying areas for improvement.
Finalization of visuals
Once the choices were validated, I worked on the final version of the vector illustrations. Each element was carefully adjusted to ensure precision and uniformity across both media. This stage also included preparing the files for print and digital distribution, ensuring that quality and colors remained true to the initial vision.
Evaluation and retrospective
After finalization, I took a step back to identify areas for improvement for my next collaborations. This retrospective allowed me to learn lessons on time management, team communication, and the application of graphic codes in a real context, thereby enhancing my professional skills.
Difficulties
Adapting to constraints
For its creation, several constraints were imposed on me, notably the James Bond theme, with which I had to bring out the sophisticated side of the character while integrating elements related to engineering. For the printing part, I had to adapt to the printer's requirements, especially for the photocall. To reduce the printing cost for ISAT and for practical reasons, I experimented with different ways to adapt the project to the right format. In the end, we opted for a design cut into three parts, which were then joined to form the final visual.
Combining creativity and sobriety
The main difficulty of this project was reconciling the engineering theme with the world of James Bond. Ultimately, we chose to prioritize sobriety by highlighting his iconic car, the Aston Martin DB5.
