The Project
The main objective of this bookmark was to raise awareness and inform about domestic violence, particularly against women. This portable support not only helps accompany victims by reminding them of helpline numbers but also indicates the behaviors to adopt in these situations. It also aims to draw the public's attention to this issue, reminding the importance of prevention and support for those affected.
My Approach
Definition of the graphic style
In order to better understand the expected aesthetic, I proposed three different designs, each with its own atmosphere. This allowed me to have a solid foundation and gain a better understanding of expectations. This step also facilitated discussions with the relevant teams, allowing concrete discussions about graphic choices and the visual impact of each proposal.
A visual at the service of its message.
Given the size of the support and the importance of its message, the visual needed to convey its content at first glance. I limited the number of graphic elements to a minimum, favoring a vector graphic in flat design, direct and effective.
An impactful color palette.
To maintain optimal readability, I limited my color palette to three main colors: a beige skin tone, an electric orange, and a blood red. This choice created a coherent and striking visual, while highlighting the importance and seriousness of the message.
Difficulties
The organization of content
One of the main difficulties I encountered was the placement and prioritization of information on the violentometer. Given the large amount of information to include and the small size of the medium, it was necessary to find a balance so that each element remains readable and understandable at first glance.
Constraints
Working with an organization, particularly a political one, also involves meticulous prioritization and elements with very precise dimensions. Several feedbacks specifically addressed these essential points, requiring careful adjustments to meet the client's requirements.
