Caen Ufology Congress
School project
32H
This graphic identity is a fictional project for the association OVNIS EN NORMANDIE for which I created a complete graphic universe for the congress. Created on the occasion of a workshop,
Create the complete branding of a fictional event.

The Project
The aesthetic of the event has been designed to capture the atmosphere and graphic codes of articles dedicated to UFOs. The work relies more on values than on color, with marked contrasts and a black and white predominance reminiscent of period newspapers. The project blends the collective imagination related to UFOs, mystery, vague testimonies, classified documents, with the graphic style of the old press. A sober, almost raw layout, intentionally a bit cryptic, evokes theories and leaves a doubt between information and fiction.

My Approach
A Recognizable Graphic Style
For the realization, I drew inspiration from the aesthetic of old archival photographs, with their strong grain, high contrasts, and visible imperfections. I aimed to recreate this old-school, almost raw printing method, where texture, noise, and flaws contribute fully to the atmosphere.
A Visual Master with Its Variations
The concept as a whole relies on its main visual: the event poster, built around a photomontage featuring the Saint-Pierre church, an emblematic and immediately recognizable monument of the city. This choice anchors the project in a real context, while injecting a mysterious and offbeat dimension. The rest of the communication unfolds from this central image, adapting the format and composition.
Difficulties
Avoid redundancy
One of the key points I wanted to establish in the other formats was to vary the compositions as much as possible. I did not want to fall into the trap of a systematic layout, with always the same arrangement or the same proportions. Each medium therefore explores a different organization: playing with scale, changing typographic placements, and reworking hierarchies.
