Future of the Past is a fictional project that fits within the aesthetic of the stories of writer H.P Lovecraft.

The Project
This project was conceived as an ancient work discovered from H.P Lovecraft, inspired by liminal images. One of my main inspirations was the analysis by the author Alt236 in the book Liminal: The New Spaces of Anxiety in which I was able to understand this universe and exploit it to the fullest. I started with a black and white photomontage to establish a heavy and more anxious atmosphere. For a more ecological version, without altering the original aesthetics, I inverted the colors of the image, incorporating more white to offer a different vision of the same montage.

My Approach
Transcribing a Rich Universe
My goal was to transcribe the essence of Lovecraft's horrific universe while integrating contemporary elements and themes related to modern horror. I chose to move away from classic representations of monsters to create a more subtle atmosphere, rooted in current horror stories.
Difficulties
Combining 2 aesthetics
The biggest challenge of this cover has been successfully harmonizing the graphic style of liminal spaces with cosmic horror in the manner of Lovecraft. It required careful consideration of the balance between mysterious atmosphere, large empty spaces, and visual tension while maintaining clear readability.
