Workflow is a fictional magazine created as part of my final project for IEC 2. Focusing on the theme of rock and metal, Workflow stands out for its balance between eco-design and the marked aesthetics of retro metal magazines.
Produce a rock/metal magazine for one of the editions of Workflow.

My Approach
The Purpose of the Magazine
The main objectives of Workflow are to encourage a wide audience to discover the world of rock and metal, while offering local and lesser-known bands visibility in the spotlight. The magazine also aims to inform both enthusiasts and professionals about artistic movements and technical innovations, whether current or historical.
Impactful Typography
Typography plays an essential role in capturing attention and reinforcing the identity of the magazine. Bold, angular fonts evoke the energy of rock and metal, creating an immediate visual impact while guiding the reader through the various contents.
A Distinct Aesthetic
The magazine's aesthetics are inspired by vintage metal magazines, featuring bold compositions, strong contrasts, and a pronounced graphic style. It reflects the raw energy of rock and metal while incorporating eco-design choices to balance visual impact with environmental responsibility.
Difficulties
Eco-design in Rock and Metal Imagery
The world of rock, characterized by large blocks of color and imposing images, has made it particularly challenging to integrate eco-design into this project. I have therefore chosen to progressively enhance the typography throughout the reading, significantly reducing the magazine's ink consumption. Moreover, the specific treatment of images further reduces its environmental impact while maintaining the visual energy inherent to rock and metal.
